NORTHEAST REGION NIGHTLY TELECONFERENCE CALL TO READ AND CONTEMPLATE SIDI’S WRITINGS with Safiyyah Miller and Northeast Region beloveds

As salaamu alaykum beloved brothers and sisters, wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.

You are invited to join us for a nightly reading of our beloved Shaykh’s books.

Sidi has asked us to begin our nightly reading call with his book “HE WHO KNOWS HIMSELF KNOWS HIS LORD.” “O dear traveler on the path (salik),” writes our beloved guide, “… I will show you how to travel (the road to Allah) and walk to your Lord and Protector Who created you, fashioned you, straightened you and modified you. He has fashioned you in the image He wills, so understand. I will explain how to walk and how to not go astray.” (p. 11). These writings uncover the secrets and practices that walk us through the 7 stations of the nafs, to clean and to know ourselves as we strive for greater and greater proximity to Allah, subhanahu wa ta’ala. Like “Music of the Soul”, Sidi expects us to be fluently acquainted with this book, and its writing is a pre-requisite for our walking and promotion as teachers.

We will gather for our first nightly call on Monday January 11, 2010 @ 9.00 p.m. ET for a 30 minute reading followed by 10-15 minutes of conversation and sharing. The call will be hosted by Safiyyah Miller, Muqqadam from New York City with beloveds from the Northeast Region.
